GN Solids Control has completed the delivery of a full 5\u2011stage solids control system<\/a> tailored for coal\u2011bed\u2011methane (CBM) drilling to an Indian local drilling contractor. CBM projects face unique challenges: complex coal\u2011bearing formations generate large volumes of fine coal cuttings, which easily deteriorate mud properties and trigger downhole troubles without multi\u2011level progressive purification.<\/p>\n

Different from conventional 3\u2011stage or 4\u2011stage mud recycling skids<\/a>, GN\u2019s five\u2011stage system adopts step\u2011by\u2011step separation workflow: linear\u2011motion shale shaker for primary coarse cuttings removal, vacuum degasser for gas elimination, hydrocyclone desander, desilter, and variable\u2011frequency decanter centrifuge for ultra\u2011fine solids disposal down to 2\u202f\u03bcm. This complete workflow stabilizes mud density and viscosity for CBM borehole stability.<\/p>\n

Built upon GN\u2019s mature manufacturing standards for shale shaker and mud\u2011system products, all tank frames go through stress\u2011relief heat\u2011treatment after welding to withstand heavy\u2011duty field vibration. Core shale shakers adopt imported OLI vibration motors with adjustable deck angle, while API\u2011RP\u201113C compliant interchangeable shaker screens extend service life under high\u2011solids coal\u2011mud conditions. Modular skid\u2011mounted layout facilitates land transport across remote Indian drilling sites; walkways, handrails, agitators, mud guns and transfer pumps are fully pre\u2011integrated to minimize on\u2011site assembly workload.<\/p>\n

The 5\u2011stage configuration brings tangible operational gains: effective barite recovery cuts consumption of weighting agents and bentonite; mud recycling rate rises greatly to lower waste\u2011mud disposal expenditure and satisfy local environmental requirements. GN offers factory FAT test reports, on\u2011site installation guidance and operator training.<\/p>\n
