While perform the drilling project on the earth, the rig produce the byproduct of cutting, crushing and grinding of solids that will be broken in loose pieces in different size.  The size in industry standard is measure by micron.  Solids control equipments in different filter stage will achieve the result by its design yet for muti-stage filter process, the line up of correct order of the machines are the must.

To make sure the drill hole cutting surface to the ground , the drilling fluid need to have enough speed in return.  It depends on the well diameter and rig ability to decide the pump output volume to achieve the fluid speed.  To achieve that speed, solids control  machineries need to perform in specific purification level base on particle size and treating capacity are fact that need to be consider.

Shale shaker is filter the solids in drilling fluid and it is one of the primary equipment.  The shale shaker filter the solids in various size by use the mesh that have different opening and layers to achieve the task.  The mesh number of the screen is bigger, the smaller capacity to remove the solid size is smaller.  The mesh number of is smaller, the bigger capacity to remove the solid size is larger.

In the drilling process, the mud pump produce large volume of mud that contain large cutting.  The screen should use smaller mesh number to filter the cutting.  Later in the drilling process while increase the depth and the well diameter is getting small, the pump produce the mud that contain smaller cutting, then it is time to use larger mesh number  to filter smaller cutting.  Other consideration such as mix ratio of water and solid will affect the result of filtering by the screen.

GN ATEX and CE certified Solids Control System for Oil Drilling to Europe

Solids control system is very important in a drilling site for it not only ensures safe drilling but also saves a lot cost by recycling the drilling mud. GN solids control is the 1 st API certified manufacturer of solids control system and equipment in China, and also certified by CE which is always required by European customers. Last week, GN solids control finished 3 sets of solids control system for an European customer, and now those system are ready for delivery. This is a repeated order from this customer, last time they ordered one set of solids control system for 750 hp drilling rig.

 

The main equipment included in these three solids control system is listed as below.

3 sets of shaker tanks, each mounted 2 shale shakers, 1 mud cleaner, and 1 vacuum degasser.

1 set of decanter centrifuge tank with 1 medium speed decanter centrifuge and 1 high speed decanter centrifuge.

1 set of active mud tank with agitators and mud guns.

1 set of suction tank with mud agitators and mud guns.

1 set of mixing tank with mixing hoppers and mixing pumps.

These are standard solids control system: shale shaker for 1 st stage treatment; mud cleaner for second stage treatment; medium speed and high speed decanter centrifuges for third stage treatment also known as the final stage treatment.

 

As mentioned before, the 3 sets of solids control system are exported to Europe, ATEX is required for motors and electric control panels, CE is required for all equipment. GN solids control is one of the few companies holding all these certificates. Besides solids control system, GN solids control also manufactures and supplies mud system for other kinds of drilling such as HDD and uprising geothermal drilling.

Vertical cuttings dryer with oilfield typical platform

Among the few Chinese manufacturers who are able to produce oilfield vertical cuttings dryer, We keep enhancing the design of our vertical cuttings dryer system based on the client’s feedback, we developed a particular oilfield used platform to repair our vertical cuttings dryer GNCD930C.With this particular platform, we are able to place the flushing pump correctly around the skid, with handrail, pathway and stairs.
