The major equipments of HDD mud recycling system including:
Centrifugal pump: GN centrifugal pump is interchangeable with world famous brand centrifugal pump and all the spare parts are 100% interchangeable. The pump casing and impeller is made of hard ductile iron alloy for better abrasion and longer working life. The centrifugal pump can be used as feeding pump of desander cone, desilter cone, also can be used as mixing pump, mud transfer pump.

Shale shaker: we have single deck shale shaker and dual deck shale shaker for different applications. We can provide composite material shaker screens from API 20 to API 325 as per client’s requirement.
Mud cleaner: we use different qty desilter cone for different treating capacity, to be installed on the single deck shale shaker and dual deck shale shaker. For 3 phase cleaning mud system, the first phase separation is shale shaker to separate coarse solids, the second phase separation is desander cone with cut point of 45 microns, the third phase separation is desilter cone with cut point of 25 microns.

GN Solids Control back from ADIPEC oil show successfully

This week GN Solids Control back from ADIPEC oil exhibition successfully, the show date is from Nov. 11th to Nov. 14th, 2019, the exhibition location is in Abu Dhabi, we have showed our popular products in the exhibition.


1) Decanter centrifuge: we can produce VFD decanter centrifuge and high speed decanter centrifuge, the VFD control panel is positive pressurized to comply with CNEX, ATEX or IEC EX explosion proof standard for zone 1 or zone 2 application, the main motor, back drive motor and pump motor drive are all from famous brand for reliable performance, the max speed of the 14 inch bowl decanter centrifuge is up to 3900 rpm, the normal speed is 3200 rpm, the max G force is 3063G, the normal G force is 2062G. The application is solids control, drilling waste management, dewatering unit, waste water treatment and all other fine solids separation.


2) Linear motion Shale shaker With ViST screen: we can produce 2 panel shale shaker, 3 panel shale shaker, 4 panel shale shaker, the ViST screen collection hopper is installed under the last screen, and connect with the vacuum unit, so that the fluids can stay in the screens for longer time and with better separation efficiency, the discharged solids can be much drier, so the drilling waste can be reduced a lot.


3) Shaker screens: we can produce OEM and replacement shaker screens with composite material frame for longer working life, the screen over API 60 all use 3 layers stainless steel wire mesh for reliable operation.
4) Sludge/ Solids vacuum pump is widely used to transfer the oil sludge, drilling waste, drilling fluids, dry sand, and all other kinds of sludge. It is a 100% air operated pump without electricity power supply.

Oil slurry separation system manufacturer in China

A basic oil sludge separation system including: sludge transfer unit, pre-mixing modular, coarse solids separation modular, fine solids separation modular, 3 phase separation modular, chemical dosing unit, oil storage tank, water storage tank and other accessories. The most important modular is fine solids separation modular and 3 phase separation, the other modular might be replaced or removed depends on the client’s requirement and site situation.


A decanter centrifuge with positive pressurized VFD control panel is used to separate the fine solids from the oil / water mixture liquids, proper chemicals should be used in the process to improve the separation performance, the fine solids should be separated as much as possible so that the next step 3 phase centrifuge can separate the oil and water with good result, without blocking the equipment. Before feeding to the decanter centrifuge, no solids bigger than 1mm remained in the oil sludge should be ensured, it might influence the centrifuge working life and lead it to blocking easily.


The 3 phase centrifuge is to use to separate the oil from water, and oil will flow to a small tank, when the liquid level reach the setting limit, the oil pump will pump it to the storage tank automatically, which will be recovered by the refinery. The recovered water can be re-used in the circulation to be used for mixing, heating and flushing.

Oil recovery solution from oil sludge

GN Solids Control can provide customized solution for oil sludge treatment unit, the core equipment is decanter centrifuge, which can separate the fine solids from the fluids mixture, the separation performance highly depends on the working and quality of the decanter centrifuge. When use the decanter centrifuge, the user should ensure that coarse solids are already separated out in case that the big solids will block the centrifuge bowl and the screw will be damaged easily because of high solids content.


The fluids discharged from decanter centrifuge will flow to a intermediate tank, then to be pumped to three phase centrifuge to separate oil and water. The recovery oil will be storage in a oil tank, the discharged water will be storage in the water tank or reused.
The working principal of decanter centrifuge for solids and liquid phase cleaning:
The oil sludge is feed to decanter centrifuge inlet pipe, and push to centrifuge bowl from screw fluids distribution port by centrifugal force. The oil sludge is rotating with the bowl under high speed up to 3900rpm, the normal working speed is 3200rpm. The centrifugal force is much more higher than gravity. With the great centrifugal force, a fluids ring is generated along with the bowl inside wall, because of the density difference for solids and liquids, the solids is heavier than liquids, which will generate bigger centrifugal force, so it is settled down to the fluids discharge port.
GN big bowl big volume decanter centrifuge GNLW554EP is the ideal model to treat oil sludge with higher treating capacity, the bowl diameter is 550mm, the bowl length is 2310mm, the higher L/D ratio 4.2 will treat the oil sludge better and cleaner. The Netzsch brand screw pump will be used to feed the different material to decanter centrifuge for stable working.

Recently we shipped one unit of 200gpm mud recycling & mixing system to Bahrain for HDD projects. This is a compact design mud system with cleaning, recycling, mixing and storage function. The system is consist of double deck shale shaker with desilter cone, 1 unit of desilter feeding pump, 1 unit of mixing pump, 1 unit of venturi hopper, 1 unit of mud tank. Below is the photo for GNMS-200G mud system.


We also have compact design mud cleaning system GNMS-200D with 200gpm mud system, this system is with cleaning function only, and the storage capacity is very small, this economic configuration unit is normally used for TBM & Piling project.
Below is the photo for 2 sets of construction slurry dewatering system for America Client shipped in June. This is to treat the construction slurry from vacuum tanker vehicle in USA. Including:

1) Slurry collection hopper to collect from vacuum tanker vehicle.

Oil sludge separation system working at site

Below is the working photo of oil sludge separation system at site, they install the complete unit under the awning to proof the sunshine, rain, snow. The most essential component is 3 phase separation modular, which consist of below equipments:


1) 2 phase decanter centrifuge to separate solids from fluids, to make it easily separation, the operator can add chemicals to the static mixer through chemical dosing system and then to centrifuge feed tube, the chemicals will accumulate the solids size for easier separation by decanter centrifuge.
2) The fluids discharged from decanter centrifuge will flow to a intermediate tank, then a small diaphragm pump will pump the mixture fluids to a disc centrifuge to separate the oil from water. The clean fluids will flow to a oil tank for temporary storage, once it reach the limit level, the oil pump will pump to a big storage tank automatically. The water will pump also be pump to a water storage tank automatically when reach the level limit.


3) By adding proper chemicals, the recovered oil BS & W below 3%,the discharged solids with oil content can be treated to 1% o 2%. The recovery water with oil content below 1000 ppmv, if the client need it to be below 30 ppm, we need to use further oil water separator after 3 phase centrifuge also by working with proper chemicals.
4) All the equipments, liquid level meter, intermediate tank, lightings, are installed on the same skid for convenient transportation and operation. Proper lifting points are provided on the four corners of the skid.
The other modular including oil sludge transfer modular ( vacuum pump), pre mixing modular, shale shaker modular, dewatering unit modular. We can sell the complete set oil sludge treatment system or by separate modular according to different oil sludge conditions.

Decanter centrifuge and centrifugal pump for drilling fluids treatment

The decanter centrifuges and centrifugal pump are ready for shipment to Russia, the decanter centrifuge can be used to treat drilling fluids for separation of low gravity solids and barite recovery. It can be also used as dewatering centrifuge with chemical dosing system, oil sludge separation decanter centrifuge in the oil sludge treatment system, and waste water treatment system to get pure water, and all the other solids & liquid separation application.


Features of GN decanter centrifuge:
1) Bowl straight cone is made of duplex stainless steel 2304/ 2205 which is much better than SS316L and SS304. The cone and other components is made of stainless steel 316L.
2) The screw is made of SS304 by centrifugal casting with heat treatment up to 1000 degree, the impeller is protected by tungsten carbide tiles, it is repairable and interchangeable. The open type design on the impeller will increase the treating capacity and improve the efficiency.
3) The bearing is made of SKF brand brearing for reliable working life.
4) The solids discharge port and fluids distribution port are both protected by tungsten alloy and it is interchangeable.
5) The collection box is made of stainless steel.
6) 2 motors-main motor and back drive motor are installed on one side for easy operation.
7) If required by client, we will provide positive pressurized VFD control panel with 3 motor VFD to provide variable speed drive. We provide CNEX, ATEX and IEC EX approved for option.


The centrifugal pump can be widely used for drilling fluids transfer, charging pump of mud pump, trip pump of trip tank, feeding pump of desander, desilter, mixing pump.
Except for decanter centrifuge and centrifugal pump, we also produce desander, desilter, vacuum degasser, centrifugal degasser, shale shaker, mud cleaner, shaker screens, mud gas separator and drilling waste management equipments.

2 package of triple shale shaker and mud cleaner set ready for shipment

Recently 2 package of triple shale shaker and mud cleaner set are ready for shipment, they are for SOBM & OBM separation, to make 3 units shale shaker on the same skid is for convenient transportation. Shale shaker is the first phase cleaning equipment, desander cone is the second phase cleaning equipment, desilter cone is third phase cleaning equipment, mud cleaner is the combination of desander cone, desilter cone and bottom shaker 3 in 1. The bottom shale shaker model is same with the tripe shale shaker, the screen size and model is same 585x1165mm, 4pcs screen panel.
The technical specification of the shale shaker is as below:


1) Dual vibration mode, linear motion and progressive elliptical, the user can adjust the vibration mode in the starter, when Linear motion is on, the max treating capacity is 140m3/h, the max G force is 7.6G, the Vibration Amplitude is 4.14~6.12mm ,when progressive elliptical motion is on, the treating capacity is 100m3/h, the G force is 5.7G, , the Vibration Amplitude is 6.39~9.18mm.
2) The vibration motor brand is Itavibras, which is DGMS/ IEC EX/ DGMS certified


3) The starter is ATEX certified, with Cast aluminum Control Cabinet, the electric components are Siemens, Schneider, ABB brand. The internal connection cable and gland is also ATEX approved.
4) The shaker screen is composite material frame shaker screen for longer working life, the effective screen area is 20% larger than the steel frame shaker screens, for API mesh size over API60, 3 layers stainless steel 316L is applied for steadily quality, The storage life is up to 5 years, which is more anti-corrosion material.
5) The possem belly can control the drilling fluids by slide gate to feed to the shale shaker for convenient operation. It can be disassembly easily during shipment and transportation.

One set of Mud recycling system for Domestic client

GN solids control shipped one set of mud recycling system for domestic client for drilling rig mud cleaning, the technical configuration is as below:
1) 2 sets of 3-panel shale shaker GNZS703F as first phase cleaning equipments with mud distribution box. The screen area is 2.73m2, each screen dimension is 700x1250mm, the screen locking method is by wedge and fixed by ratchet wrench. 2ea of 1.72KW vibration motor drived the shale shaker and provide G force up to 7.5G ( adjustable). The shaker deck bottom material is stainless steel for better corrosion resistant.


2) 1 set of desander GNZJ752-2S as second phase cleaning equipment, with 2ea of 10 inch PU material desander cone. The bottom shaker is 2 panel screens installed composite material shaker screens.
3) 1 set of desilter GNZJ752F-12N as the third phase cleaning equipment, with 12ea of 4 inch PU material desilter cone. The bottom shaker is with 2 panel composite material shaker screen.


4) 1 set of decanter centrifuge GNLW452 as barite recovery centrifuge, the normal operation speed is 1800rpm or 2200rpm. This is the 4th phase cleaning equipment with cut point 5~7 microns. The vertical installed submersible slurry pump as centrifuge feeding pump.
5) 3 sets of mud tanks as trip tank, active tank, intermediate tank, storage tank, mixing tank, the mud agitator and mud gun are installed on the mud tank for agitating the drilling fluids.
6) Mud tank accessories such as high position butterfly valve, drain cleaning gate, pipelines, flexible connector, man hole, walkways, handrails, stairs, hose, flanges, etc.
7) Explosion proof motor and control system to control all the electric motors and lightings.

Drilling cuttings treatment system working for oil based drilling cuttings

GN after sales team come back from jobsite in Xinjiang for one set of drilling cuttings treatment system. The configuration is as below:
1) One set of GNCD930E vertical cuttings dryer to treat the oil remained in the cuttings below 5%. The discharged fluids will flow to the intermediate tank and the feed pump will transfer the clean fluids to the decanter centrifuge from the intermediate tank. After treated by GN VCD, the discharged solids can meet the disposal limit for most countries, it can be used for landfill. If not, the discharged solids can be treated by TDU to lower the oil below 1%. The client can use TDU directly for oil based drilling cuttings, but by using drilling waste management system prior to TDU will save power energy and diesel consumption a lot.


2) One set of VFD decanter centrifuge GNLW363C-VFD to separate the fine solids from the discharged fluids, the recovered fluids can be used to prepare for new drilling fluids and to be reused for drilling rig. The discharged solids will be back to the circulation or cuttings box for disposal.
3) One set of centrifuge feed pump and one set of vertical cuttings dryer flushing pump, both of them are installed on the package skid and they are positive displacement pump made by Germany Netzsch. The speed of the screw pump can be controlled in the VFD control panel to control the flow rate of the feeding capacity.


4) One set of GN standard mud tank skid, all the equipments are installed on the tank skid for convenient operation and transportation.
5) 2 sets of screw conveyor to transfer the drilling waste, one set is used to transfer the oil based drilling cuttings to vertical cuttings dryer top feeding port, one set is used to collect the discharge solids and transfer out to other area automatically.
