The client only need to prepare the suction pipe, discharge pipe and the air compressor.

Why use GN solids vacuum pump instead of other pumps?

As the offshore mud tank system manufacturer in China, we can design customized mud tank system for onshore and offshore drilling.
Recently we shipped one set of offshore mud tank system to our client, it consist of one unit of shale shaker, one unit of mud cleaner, one unit of decanter centrifuge , one unit of submersible slurry pump as feeding pump of decanter centrifuge, 2 units of centrifugal pump as feeding pump of mud cleaner desander cone and desilter cone. The shaker screen size of shale shaker and mud cleaner underflow shale shaker is same for easy stock of shaker screens, the composite material shaker screens is proved with at least 20% longer working life than the steel frame shale shaker.

Shale shaker is the first phase cleaning equipment to separate coarse solids and reduce the solids content, the performance of the shale shaker is better, the drilling waste is less, the working life of the desander cone is longer, the working life of centrifugal pump is longer.
The desander cone is the second phase cleaning equipment to separate cut point over 75 microns.
The desilter cone is the third phase cleaning equipment to separate solids cut point over 25 microns.

The decanter centrifuge is the fourth phase cleaning equipment to separate the fine solids cut point 2~5 microns. Features of GN decanter centrifuge:
1) Bowl material is made of duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304 by centrifugal casting, the screw is made of stainless steel by heat treatment up to 1000 degree, the opening propeller design increase the treating capacity.
2) The solids discharge port and fluids distribution port is protected by tungsten alloy, the screw impeller is protected by tungsten carbide tiles, the scraper and side scraper is also installed to protect the solids discharge port and bowl.
3) The collection box is made of stainless steel material for better abrasion resistence.

For the clients in other countries with normal temperature, GNCM-40A drilling waste management system is the most popular model, the configuration is as below:
1 unit of rated speed vertical cuttings dryer installed on the skid, 1 unit of VFD decanter centrifuge installed on the telescopic skid, 1 unit of feeding pump installed on the skid, intermediate tank on the skid for storage of the vertical cutting dryer discharged fluids, and the feed pump will feed the fluids from the intermediate tank to the decanter centrifuge for further treatment, all the equipments are installed on one skid for convenient transportation.

The containerized drilling waste management system is with similar configuration, just considering the low operation temperature in Russia, we use a standard 40ft container to ensure all the equipments working in warm area, otherwise the user has to stop working during the long winter.


The screw conveyor
is used to transfer the discharged solids from the vertical G dryer discharge port to cuttings collection box. Also there is skip to collect the discharged solids from decanter centrifuge. The screw conveyor also collect the drilling cuttings from the shale shaker and transfer the drilling cuttings to the vertical cuttings dryer. The length of the screw conveyor is customized according to the rig site layout, the standard length for each section is 12ft, we have option for 1 section, 2 sections, 3 sections and 4 sections. We can also make customized length accordingly.

The working process of the oil sludge separation system:
1) Coarse solids separation modular: with one unit of high G force drying shaker with adjustable G force up to 7.5G, 1mm or 2mm opening screens are installed on the shaker to separate the coarse solids, it is quipped with internal spraying system and sealing cover to prevent oil sludge spilling. The mud tank under the shale shaker is with internal heating lines to heat and mix the oil sludge so that it will be easier to be treated by decanter centrifuge.
2) Decanter centrifuge modular: one unit of VFD decanter centrifuge installed on the mud tank with heating lines, mud tank accessories, The positive progressive displacement pump as feeding pump of decanter centrifuge , the feeding pump feed the oil sludge from shale shaker tank to decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids cut point 2~5 microns. The mud agitator mixed the oil sludge after treatment and it will flow to the inclined plate clarifier to separate the ultra fine solids before oil water separator.

3) Inclined plate clarifier: It is used to separate the ultra fine solids from the oil water mixture.
4) Oil water separator: to separate oil and water, the pure oil will be pumped to oil tank, the recovered water will be pumped to water storage tank and it can be reused for circulation or hot water for heating.

The shale shaker is the first phase cleaning equipments for separation of solids from drilling fluids, the fluids dropped down into the mud tank, then the feeding pump of decanter centrifuge will feed the fluids to decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids from the fluids, so the discharged clean fluids can be recovered and reused to prepare for new drilling fluids, by using the chemical dosing system together, the user can separate the ultra fine solids up to 1 microns, then the remained water can be clean enough to be sent to waste water treatment facility.

The big bowl decanter centrifuge with big treating capacity is the ideal option to be used with dewatering unit, once adding the chemicals, the treating capacity will be reduced a lot according to the density and viscosity of the materials, if the client need higher output, the big bowl decanter centrifuge with 18 inch, 22 inch and 30 inch bowl diameter. The bowl material is made of duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304 for better corrosion resistence, the screw is completed made of stainless steel and heat treatment up to 1000 degree, the open design of the impeller can increase the treating capacity. Mud recycling system for slurry separation

Recently we shipped one set of slurry recycling system for China client with the equipment list as below:

  1. Linear motion shale shaker GNZS703 with 3 panels composite material frame shaker screens, the 2 Italy Oli vibration motors, each with 2.3HP, and the motor and control panel is explosion proof standard, the shaker deck bottom material is stainless steel material. The total screen area is 2.73 m2.
  2. The desander with bottom shaker for drying the discharged solids, 2 ea of 10 inch desander cone installed on the same model shale shaker, this is a 2 phase searation desander, the hydrocyclones with steel material cover outside and inside material is PU material, the shaker screen is same size with the shale shaker, the user can stock the shaker screens with only one size.
  3. The mud agitator, mud gun installed on the mud tank to agitate the slurry in case that the solids will accumnulate in the tank bottom.
  4. The submersible slurry pump is installed on the mud tank to feed the slurry to desander cone, it do not need so much space to install it.
  5. The trip pump and mud mixing pump installed on the skid to provide power to the mixing hopper and mud gun.
  6. The venturi hopper to mix chemicals with the slurry to prepare for new fluids by working with mixing pump. The new drilling fluids can be reused or the clean fluids can be reused directly without mixing if necessary.
  7. Mud tank with handrails, walkways, stairs, pipelines, lightings, electric control system.

1500HP rig solids control system to India

One set of 1500HP rig solids control system is ready shipment to India for oil drilling company, this is their repeat order since 2008, they keep purchasing the solids control system & equipments and shaker screens, desander cone, desilter cone , etc. spare parts from GN. The technical configuration of this 1500HP rig solids control system is as below:

1) 3 units of linear motion shale shaker, each shaker equipped with 3pcs composite material shaker screens for longer working life and save time to replace shaker screens. One possem belly is installed after the 3 units of shale shaker to collect the drilling fluids from elevated manifold or poor boy degasser and distribute them evenly to 3 shale shaker buffer box. The coarse solids are effectively separated out, so that it can reduce the burden for the next step equipments- mud cleaner and make the working life of desander cone, desilter cone and centrifugal pump longer.

2) 1 units of vacuum degasser to separate the gas from the drilling fluids, to protect the centrifugal pump impeller and keep the mud balance.
3) 2 sets of centrifugal pump as the feeding pump of desander cone and desilter cone, 1 unit of mud cleaner is the combination of 10 inch desander cone, 4 inch desilter cone and bottom shale shaker, the shaker screen dimension is same with the linear motion shale shaker. The desander cut point is 45~75 microns, the desilter cut point is 25~45 microns.

4) 1 units of middle speed decanter centrifuge with submersible slurry pump as feeding pump for barite recovery.
5) 1 unit of high speed decanter centrifuge with submersible slurry pump as feeding pump to separate the cut point 2~5 microns low gravity solids.
6) 2 sets of mud tanks with handrails, walkway, stairs, electric control system, pipelines, valves and all the other accessories.

Two sets of Slurry dewatering system for America Client

Two sets of slurry dewatering system is ready for shipment for America client for construction slurry, this is the repeat order from the same client, they are satisfied with the performance and after sales service, so they purchased 4 more units for their ongoing project, these 2 sets of slurry dewatering unit is part of their new order.   1. Coarse solids separation modular: The coarse solids separatioin shale shaker is installed on the slurry collection hopper, the discharged slurry is dropped into the collection hopper, a submersible slurry pump is installed vertically as feeding pump of fine solids separation modular.
  2. Slurry collection hopper modular: This is special designed slurry collection hopper and it is used to collect the construction slurry from the vacuum tanker vehicle. The internal water spray system will help the slurry to the hopper discharge port easily.
  3. Fine solids separation modular: A shale shaker equipped fine mesh shaker screen to separate the fine solids from the slurry, this step is very necessary to reduce the solids content and protect the desilter cone in the next process, also it will protect the centrifugal pump of the desilter cone, it will reduce the abrasion of them and make their working life longer.
  4. Desilting modular: The desilter cone is to separate fine solids over 20 microns before decanter centrifuge, it can reduce the fine solids effectively and improve the separation efficiency of the decanter centrifuge.
  5. Decanter centrifuge: The high speed decanter centrifuge is used to separate the ultra fine solids over 2 microns, the performance of the centrifuge is very important, sometimes the client will use dewatering unit together to separate the 1 microns solids.

Centrifuge package modular including one unit of 2 phase decanter centrifuge, screw pump as feeding pump of decanter centrifuge, 3 phase centrifuge to separate oil from water, flushing tank with flushing pump, centrifuge tank skid to install the centrifuge on it, buffer tank for oil and water storage, the oil will be automatically pumped to oil storage tank once it reach the setting level. The water will be automatically pumped to water storage tank or back to the circulation system. The liquid level meter is applied to monitor the liquid level.
