This week GN solids control shipped 2 sets of containerized drilling waste management system to Russia client, totally we have over 10 units of such system working in Russia, the unique design is because of the low temperature in Russia area. The container with heating material to keep the equipments warm and can work smoothly, otherwise the equipments will stop working or damage the explosion proof motor when the temperature is lower than – 40℃.
The main equipments of the drilling waste management system for oil based drilling waste is vertical cuttings dryer, also called vertical G dryer. The other equipments list including：

40ft standard container with door and windows
Flushing pump for vertical G dryer
Mud recycling tank with mud agitator
Centrifuge feeding pump (10HP positive displacement pump) to feed the collected fluids to the decanter centrifuge which is installed outside the container.
The screw conveyor to transfer the discharged solids from the vertical cuttings dryer to cuttings collection box
And other accessories inside the container, like washing platform with clean water pipeline connecting port and cabinet for tools and small wear parts storage.

GNLW363CG-VFD decanter centrifuge is the most popular model centrifuge to equipped in the drilling waste management system with max treating capacity 40m3/h, normal working capacity The vertical cuttings dryer can be fixed speed to keep the smooth working speed and G force, but the decanter centrifuge must be variable frequency drive with positive pressurized VFD control panel, the inverter brand is world famous brand ABB, the other electric components are Schneider, Simens, etc.
The decanter centrifuge collection box material is SS304, the bowl material is made by centrifugal casting of duplex stainless steel 2304, which is much better than SS316L.

This week GN solids control shipped 2 units of chemical dosing system with 2 big bowl big volume decanter centrifuge to our Singapore Clients for TBM waste mud treatment. This is not the first time for GN to ship such dewatering unit to Singapore for TBM waste water treatment project, several years ago we shipped another unit of containerized dewatering unit with decanter centrifuge installed inside 20ft container for convenient shipment, operation and rain proof.

GNLW553C-VFD decanter centrifuge is a 22 inch bowl diameter centrifuge, this is not the largest centrifuge GN can produce, we also have GNLW764-VFD with 30 inch bowl diameter centrifuge, it can be used for Tunneling project when huge amount water/ sludge is required for the operation.

The chemicals are added in the chemical dosing system and mixed, then the dosing pump will transfer the chemicals to the decanter centrifuge feed tube, the chemicals will be added to the waste water/ waste sludge from the TBM and after treatment, the ultra fine solids will be separated out from the waste water so they can be reused for the TBM operation. The centrifuge mechanical separation cut point is 2~5 microns, if most of the solids inside the waste water is smaller than 2 microns, it is hard to separate out them, you have to add flocculant to make them flocculation and easy to be separated by the high speed decanter centrifuge.

Recently GN solids control engineer is working in the jobsite of the USA client for construction industry for the slurry separation system installation and first time commissioning. We have branch company in Houston, USA called GN Solids America LLC, we will responsible for the after sales service and pre- sales service and money collection, we also have spare parts in stock to meet the client’s operation requirement. The client totally bought 2 sets of such slurry separation system with the same technical configuration. The equipments below are composed in the system.
1)    Trash collection hopper to collect the waste slurry

The drying shaker is a 4 panel shale shaker with high G force up to 8.0G, the composite material shaker screen lasts longer working life and better performance.
4)    Mud cleaner
The mud cleaner is the combination of the desilter cone and bottom shale shaker to separate the fine solids from the slurry.
5)    Big bowl big volume decanter centrifuge: The 22 inch bowl diameter decanter centrifuge max treating capacity is 110m3/h for clean water, the normal treating capacity for drilling fluids treatment is 90m3/h, for slurry separation with chemical dosing system, the treating capacity will be reduced a lot based on different slurry conditions.

The trailer mounted mud cleaning system in UK can be used for many different applications, including geothermal drilling, water well drilling, horizontal directional drilling, CBM drilling, all kinds of water solids separation project and construction sludge separation system. The technical configuration is as below:

1)    2 mud tanks are installed on the trailer, the total height of trailer plus mud tank system can meet the road transportation limit in Europe. The 2 mud tanks are connected by bottom balance pipeline to keep the mud level in balance and when one mud tank is full, it can flow to another.
2)    The shale shaker, mud cleaner and decanter centrifuge are installed on the mud tank.
The 3 panel shale shaker with 3pcs shaker screens total area 2.63m2, each screen dimension is 700x 1250mm, the composite material frame shaker screen last 20% longer lifetime than previous steel frame shaker screen.
The 3 panel mud cleaner with desander cone, desilter cone and bottom shale shaker, total treating capacity 500gpm. The working principal is as below:
One feeding pump feed the drilling fluids to desander cone inlet pipe, the clean fluids are discharged from the desander outlet pipe and drop into the mud tank. The solids are separated out from the desander nozzle and drop down to the shaker screen, the big solids are separated out from the shaker screen and useful fluids will pass through the screen opening and drop into the mud tank.
Then the desilter feeding pump treat the fluids again by the same way.
High speed decanter centrifuge with separation cut point 2 ~3 microns, the normal working speed is 3200rpm, the max speed is 3900rpm, normally mud recycling system do not install decanter centrifuge, only when after many year operation, the drilling fluids accumulated many fine solids which can not be reused again or when the drilling is finished, the operator need to clean the tailings.

This week GN solids control shipped the second batch of solids control equipments to Ukraine for 16 drilling rig project. The total quantity of the project requirement is as below:
1)    horizontal decanter centrifuge, 30 units
2)    linear motion shale shaker and linear motion mud cleaner, over 30 units
3)    vacuum degasser, 6 units

These equipments will be shipped by 4 batch, this is the 2nd batch. All of them are our major solids control equipments, which have been proved to be good quality, good performance and competitive price.
We also have another type of degasser-centrifugal type degasser which is very popular in Russia market, the features of centrifugal degasser is compact design, easy maintenance, high efficient. The vacuum degasser is a horizontal type degasser with steady operation performance, no need jetting pump compared with Derrick type vacuum degasser.
We have fixed type centrifuge and VFD decanter centrifuge, the client choose fixed speed centrifuge for oil & gas drilling rig, if the client use the centrifuge for drilling cuttings treatment and dewatering unit, the VFD decanter centrifuge is applied.

The linear motion mud cleaner with 1000 gpm treating capacity, 2 ea of desander cone and 12 ea of desilter cone. The bottom shale shaker model is same with the linear motion shale shaker, the client only need to make stock for one dimension shaker screens.

This week we shipped mud gas separator and waste collection box to Sinopec.
The mud gas separator normally installed before the solids control system and on the trip tank skid together with chock manifold. Right now all the oil well drilling and mining drilling require mud gas separator to avoid kicking off, sometimes they also need a flare ignitor device. Several month ago GN solids control also shipped one set of mud gas separator and one set of flare ignitor to Indonesia.

Another product is the waste collection box / container with PLC smart control which is used to collect the drilling waste cuttings or oil sludge waste from the rig site. The function of the PLC smart control is as below:

1) The motinoring system to monitor the leakage on the discharge port
2) Warning system for loading the waste within the limit of the environmental protection law as per the gravity sensor
3) Electrical automatic sliding cover performs well on sealing for leakage when closed
Both of them will be used in the rig site, the mud gas separator is used before solids control system, the waste collection box is used to collect the cuttings from the solids control equipments.

This week GN solids control shipped the second unit of sand separation system for construction industry to USA client. The first unit of construction sand separation system was shipped to the same client in June, it is already arrived at the client’s jobsite, our engineer is preparing to do the first time installation and commission service in USA to the client’s jobsite.

Same with the first unit sand separation system, the second set of sand washing system made a little changes.
The technical configuration including the items as below:
1)    GNLW553C-VFD big bowl decanter centrifuge for sand separation, with centrifuge bowl diameter 22inch and length 71 inch, the bowl material is made of duplex stainless steel 2205 or 2304, which is much better than SS 316L. The bearing brand is SKF brand. The decanter centrifuge works together with chemical dosing system to separate the fine solids better and reduce the solids content effectively and the discharged water treated by decanter centrifuge is much more clear and easily for the further waste water treatment after GN sand separation system.

2)    The coarse solids separation shale shaker is used to separate the big solids from the sludge of construction.
3)    The desilter with bottom shale shaker to separate the fine solids with feeding pump to feed to the 4 inch desilter cone. The desilter with 8ea desilter cones with treating capacity 500gpm.

4)    There is a big hopper to collect the waste sludge from the construction industry, then it is pumped by submersible slurry pump to the coarse solids separation shale shaker.

This weekend GN solids control go team traveling at the end of Summer in the Fengning grassland, all the employees in China right now participate in the traveling, some of the employees are still working aboard for installation, commissioning and sales in the branch company. All the department including international sales, domestic sales, technical dept. ,production dept., PMC dept., etc for both headquarter and the second facility.

This is not the frist time for team traveling organized by GN solids control, every year GN solids control teams will go traveling in domestic and abroad. At end of March, GN international and domestic sales dept. go traveling in Thailand because of hard working and good sales.
