The common process for dredging slurry separation system is as below:
Firstly received the sludge from the dredger which is mixed the water, stones, rubbish and fine solids and transfer the sludge from the dredge boat to GN dredging slurry separation unit by pump. We will use coarse mesh screens( polyurethane shaker screens for longer working life, especially suitable to separate big solids like stones, bricks, tree branch,etc) to separate big solids firstly, the purpose is to protect the equipments in the further process and improve the efficiency of the complete system.
We will use multi shale shakers because most of the dredging projects need a very big treating capacity. In the second step we will use fine mesh screen to separate fine solids, sometimes we will use desander cone and desilter cone with centrifugal pumps as feeding pump, but the cones are only as option, because of the high power consumption.

1, the first generation of GNLW363, originally designed for 360 mm horizontal spiral sedimentation centrifuge, in this two motor, one is main motor ,another is a auxiliary, respectively installed on both ends of the centrifuge.Though, it is with the highest level of materials, the design concept of the centrifuge is basically the same with other domestic counterparts of the old.
2, the second generation GNLW363B, more international, with GN solid control has sold the products in many countries and regions of the world, as well as the champions league to the product design is becoming more and more internationalized, GNLW363B horizontal screw centrifuge before the two motor position has a into one end is at each end of the two, mainly is to increase the operator have more space and centrifuges operating characteristics of easy to maintain, stable operation.
3, the third generation GNLW363C sedimentation centrifuge, in addition to the basic drilling mud solid control can also be used for oilfield drilling waste management pulp processing, it is similar to GNLW363B, two motor on one side.But on the other details GNLW363C also has a better update on structure, structure, based on the B version upgrade C version of the centrifuge and been used in many fields.Such as sludge separation, flocculation and dewatering unit, waste pulp processing, etc., with the user feedback, after upgrade C version of the centrifuge in use process compared to B version, processing capacity increased by 50%, continuity of operations, rugged conditions objection to adapt.
4, the fourth generation of GNLW363D, the inside of the design and GNLW363C are similar, but the outlook is completely different, because the structure is higher than C version is more compact, the stability, its total weight is reduced by 30%, is advantageous for the urgent needs air.In terms of use and transport greatly saves time and money.

Most of the horizontal directional mud cleaning system is not equipped with decanter centrifuge unit as by using the 3-phase separation system including shale shaker, de-sander and de-silter unit, it can work good enough for removing the solids from drilling fluids. Centrifuge is relative high cost, which is also a reason the drilling contractor doesn’t equip it in the mud system.

However, for some high request drilling condition, the driller may use the heavy mud for better drilling performance. Sometimes the drillers add the certain chemicals to make the drilling mud heavier so that the mud can better protect the wall of the drilling hole. If the driller went to drill another well, the heavy chemicals need to be separated, and then the centrifuge could be used to do this job. In some other conditions, after many times recycling of the drilling mud, there is much ultra fine solid particles that cannot be removed by the shaker and cyclone unit, and then the centrifuge unit is needed.

GN Solids Control has nearly 10 years in fabricating the drilling mud system for HDD projects. This type mud cleaning system need to be compact structure and easy for transportation. See the picture in this article, both the de-sander and de-silter unit are equipped with under flow shaker for drying the discharged solids. The shakers used are 2-layer screen design. The bottom layer screen is used as primary shaker and upper layer screen to dry the discharges out from the cyclone units. This design greatly reduces the footprint of the mud system. And all mud tank top surface equipment are pre-installed on a frame with same base dimension as storage tank. When transport the mud system, the shaker and centrifuge units could be removed by lifting the frame for fast disassemble. With the frame, the equipment could be easily transported by flat bed trailer.

Last Saturday GN solids control sales team attended Quality Development Training and the training get positive reactions between our international sales team and domestic sales team. This is not the first time quality development training between the 2 sales team, our goal is to reach Harmonious team relationships between the 2 sales team and each team member. We totally have 13 international sales, 3 persons for marketing department, 7 person for domestic sales team and 2 persons for foreign employees. Right now the US employees working at GN branch office in USA-GN SOLIDS AMERICA LLC located in Houston. And we have 3 sales engineers working there from China. We have 2 sales engineers working in Russia in our Russia branch company. Since last year our business in Russia keeps growing because their hard working. Totally 17 persons in our sales team attend the training.

This year GN second new factory start to work, and we plan to produce decanter centrifuge, vertical cuttings dryer, centrifugal pump and shaker screens in that new factory, and only produce traditional solids control equipments and system and fabrication works.

At the same time, GN Houston branch company and Russia branch company keep developing very well. We attend North America largest and most professional oil & gas products exhibition-OTC 2016 held in Houston, TX in May, also we attend the largest oil & gas show in Moscow, we showed our most advance vertical cuttings dryer, VFD decanter centrifuge, Hi-G dryer, etc drilling waste management equipments.

After 40 days manufacturing time, GN hdd drilling mud tank is ready for delivery for Middle East client. When doing some pipelines projects without digging the road, much better for passing vehicles, hdd drilling rig and HDD mud system is necessary. The two sets mud tank system will be used for Horizontal directional drilling contracts from local government, mud tank system including below items:

1) shale shaker.  Shaker is the first stage of solid control sytem. GNZS703 shaker is 3 panel shaker. The 3 panel shale shaker will be used to separate the big solids, or sands from the drilling mud, treating capacity 500gpm. The carbon steel shaker screen is durable for HDD projects, may just require 30pcs to 80pcs shaker screen in stock as per the contracts features.

2) mud cleaner. Mud cleaner is the second phase solids control equipment. After treated by shale shaker, the drilling mud will be pumped to mud cleaner by centrifugal pumps.  After treated by mud cleaner, most particles up to 25 microns can be removed. This standard drilling mud without big particles is OK for HDD projects. However, in some special cases or some government project, decanter centrifuge will work as the 3nd stage for further treatment of the drilling mud to make it cleaner.

3) This client also bought one sets middle speed centrifuge with centrifuge skid and feed pump as extra package. We already start the arrangement for the clients and will ship them later with full container for better protection.

After 3 year’s production and development, GN second new factory officially put into use, the main production line is decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer, which are also our main products in the recent years. The manufacturing capacity will be increased a lot after it is usage, we can produce about 300 units of decanter centrifuge and 100 units of vertical cuttings dryer per year. This factory is close to the first new factory, only 2km far away, it is convenient for the client to visit and look around the both factories, and check all the equipments production.

GN solids control just finished the mining exhibition successfully at EXPOMIN 2016 in Santiago, Chile last week, we displayed the baby centrifuge at the show, this is the first time for GN to attend EXPOMIN together with our exclusive representative SL Group oil & Mining solutions. A lot of clients showed their interests to our baby centrifuge, which is specially designed for diamond core drilling. We introduce the mini mining centrifuge to the mining market with the purpose as below:

1 reduce water consumption , especially when water is very expensive

2 Reduce total drilling cost

3 Save the total cost of solids disposal

4 Environmental friendly, to be a responsible company to the local resident

In some sites only a baby decanter centrifuge is not enough, we need the baby shale shaker to separate the big rocks firstly and reduce the solids content and make the solids dryer, so the centrifuge can work better and the solids discharged will be much drier. The humidity of the discharge solids can be adjusted by the adjustment plate on the big end of the mini centrifuge easily.

The dryness of the mud cake is acceptable by most of the clients, they can use the truck or cuttings box to transfer the solids directly or dump them directly. The discharged fluids will be reused to save the cost. The water is not clear enough for drinking, the separation cut point is 2~5 microns, most of the solids smaller than 2 microns will remain in the water.

The complete solids removal unit is also welcomed by the potential clients, they like the compact design much.
