GN Solids Control has been focusing on solids control and drilling waste management fields for a long time. Each year, GN Solids Control produces about 150 decanter centrifuges and 400 shale shakers along with the other solids control tools. A majority of these equipment are delivered abroad because of the big international market.
Lately, GN has manufactured two decanter centrifuges for clients in Nigeria. Both of these decanter centrifuges are comprised one whole system for drilling liquids separation.
Naturally as is well-known, when two decanter centrifuges are utilizing together, the first is generally dealing with bigger capacity drilling mud, and the second can be used for separating finer solids. Even though the decanter centrifuge is principally accustomed to separate solids with diameter bigger than five microns, two decanter centrifuges have different separation function when cooperating.
Mentioning this system, GN suggested making use of two sets of GNLW 363 decanter centrifuge. The bowl diameter of the decanter centrifuge is 14 inch and the size of this decanter centrifuge is 50 inch. The treating capacity can achieve to 200 GPM. However for rotating speed of the decanter centrifuges, they won’t be the same. In order to save cash for clients, the first decanter centrifuge could be fixed speed at 3200 r/m. And the second could be rotating from 0 to 3200 r/m.
Once the drilling liquids with mud changes, we are able to adjust the rotating speed from the second centrifuges to fulfill the treating requirements. However, it might be easier to choose two sets adjustable speed centrifuges. When controlled by PLC, all operation work will be much simpler for workers.
Here both of these decanter centrifuges are generally fed by screw pump. GN use famous label screw pumps that are extremely effective feeding pumps, if this pumps is working, it can avoid agitating the drilling mud.
