One batch of shale shaker and centrifugal pump ready for shipment

This week one batch of GNZS594J-SHBJ shale shaker and GNSB8×6C-13J centrifugal pumps are ready for shipment to India.
GNZS594J-SHBJ shale shaker with 4 panel of 585x1165mm composite material frame shaker screens. The vibration mode is linear motion, reference treating capacity is 140m3/h by API40 shaker screen, it is drived by 2ea 2.3HP Italy Oli brand vibration motor. The vibration G force is up to 7.5G and it is adjustable. The screen area is 2.73m2, and the deck angle adjustment range is from -1° to +5°. The shale shaker application including oil & gas drilling mud solids control, oil & gas drilling waste management, oil sludge treatment unit, HDD mud treatment, TBM slurry separation, construction slurry mud treatment, mining drilling mud treatment and other types of mud treatment.

The starter and vibration motor have different explosion proof standard for option: CNEX / ATEX / IECEx, standard ExdIIBT4. The shaker screens installed on the shale shaker is produced comply with API RP13C standard, with 3 layers of stainless steel 316L wire mesh and composite material frame for longer working life.
Fast disassembly design of sealing strip on shaker deck bottom, it is convenient to replace the sealing rubber, wear resistant polyurethane rubber strip with good sealing effect and longer working life. Also side fluids outlet plate and bottom fluids outlet plate is removable with sealing rubber.


8 units of GNSB8×6C-13J centrifugal pump (55KW) is used as transfer pump of the slurry, the electric control panel is installed on the skid to control the electric motor.The pump casing and impeller is made from hard ductile iron alloy to extend the working life, and all the spare parts are interchangeable with international famous brand centrifugal pump to outsource the spare parts easily.

How to operate a high speed decanter centrifuge?

A high speed decanter centrifuge or a VFD decanter centrifuge can be widely used for drilling fluids cleaning, drilling cuttings treatment, waste water treatment and slurry dewatering, etc. How to operate a high speed decanter centrifuge produced by GN Solids Control? Below is some instructions about it.


Firstly connect with power supply with decanter centrifuge control panel, switch controller between control panel and power supply is necessary to ensure wiring safety, then loose the fixing screws, keep the screw end 5mm faraway from centrifuge bowl. If the centrifuge is VFD decanter centrifuge, plug the main motor, variable frequency back drive motor, back drive motor fan, and feeding pump motor into the control panel, connect the power cable to the terminals in the VFD control panel, then provide clean and dry air from the air inlet, the required working pressure is 0.4 Mpa to 0.7 Mpa (150~200 L/min).


During operation of the VFD decanter centrifuge, open the air source and adjust the inlet pressure, select work mode. Simultaneously push the 2 buttons on positive pressure controller for 5s until displayed N , the positive pressuried VFD control panel start to work. Input the main motor speed and back drive motor speed to start the centrifuge, when the centrifuge operates normally , input the operation parameters of the feeding screw pump. when the feeding pump is stopped, a red window showed that “conveyor speed set error, number set should lower than”, pls select No to refuse flushing. When the red window disappeared, set flushing parameters to flush the decanter centrifuge. After the decanter centrifuge stopped completely, switch off main power, close air source, cut off power supply.

Decanter centrifuge feeding pump

Even though all of the screw pump, submersible slurry pump, centrifugal pump, diaphragm pump, inline pump can be used as decanter centrifuge feeding pump, but the most universal feeding pump for decanter centrifuge is mono pump or positive displacement pump. As one of the decanter centrifuge manufacturer in China, GN solids control normally used single screw pump as feeding pump, including VFD screw pump, manual variable speed screw pump and fixed speed screw pump, which depends on client’s different requirement. The most common brand screw pump we applied is Netzsch brand with reliable working and worldwide after sales service, the client can choose to get local service from Netzsch or get service from GN Solids.
When the client’s decanter centrifuge is with variable frequency drive control panel and buy feeding pump from GN, we will make the screw pump motor frequency converter into the Centrifuge VFD control panel, which can be adjusted from the PLC smart control touch screen easily according to client’s requirement, it is recommend to use variable speed motor for the screw pump for better performance.
If the client’s decanter centrifuge is a fixed speed decanter centrifuge, for example, 2700rpm, but they need to adjust the feeding rate by adjust the screw pump motor speed, manual variable speed screw pump can be selected, which with a mechanical adjustable speed gearbox. The working principal of the positive displacement pump decide that the feeding flow rate can be adjusted effectively by adjust the speed, if for other type feeding pump, such as centrifugal pump and submersible slurry pump, it is hardly to adjust the feeding rate by variable frequency, it is suggested to adjust the flow rate manually by control valves.
Not only as decanter centrifuge feeding pump, the screw pump can be also as flushing pump of vertical cuttings dryer.

GN Horizontal vacuum degasser working principal

GN designed horizontal type vacuum degasser create a negative pressure inside the vacuum tank by the vacuum pump suction. Under the atmospheric pressure, the drilling fluids enter the hollw shaft of the rotor through the suction pipe, then sprays towards the tank wall through the windows around the hollow shaft. Due to the collision and separation wheel, the drilling fluids forms a thin layer, causing bubbles immersed in the mud to break and gas escape.Through the vacuum pump suction and gas water separator’s separation, gas is discharged to a safe area through the exhaust pipe, mud is discharged from the mud outlet through centrifugal force generated by the impeller rotation driven by the main motor. Remember that the main motor should be started firstly, then vacuum pump motor starts. The suction pipe and discharge pipe should be placed under the mud level.


The vacuum pump is a water ring type vacuum pump, when start the vacuum pump motor, a negative pressure of 550mm Hg is formed by the vacuum pump inside the vacuum tank.
The outlet pipe is connected to the intet of gas water separator, the gas is out of the vacuum tank and discharged through the exhaust pipe.
How to use the horizontal vacuum degasser?


Firstly, open the ball valve on the vacuum pump water inlet pipe, then open the valve on the water inlet of the gas water separator, press start on the control panel, start the vacuum pump, let the drilling fluids enter into the vacuum tank. The vacuum pump will be stopped if you press the stop button, then stop the main motor button , disconnected the power supply.
