Mud recycling system for slurry separation

Recently we shipped one set of slurry recycling system for China client with the equipment list as below:

  1. Linear motion shale shaker GNZS703 with 3 panels composite material frame shaker screens, the 2 Italy Oli vibration motors, each with 2.3HP, and the motor and control panel is explosion proof standard, the shaker deck bottom material is stainless steel material. The total screen area is 2.73 m2.
  2. The desander with bottom shaker for drying the discharged solids, 2 ea of 10 inch desander cone installed on the same model shale shaker, this is a 2 phase searation desander, the hydrocyclones with steel material cover outside and inside material is PU material, the shaker screen is same size with the shale shaker, the user can stock the shaker screens with only one size.
  3. The mud agitator, mud gun installed on the mud tank to agitate the slurry in case that the solids will accumnulate in the tank bottom.
  4. The submersible slurry pump is installed on the mud tank to feed the slurry to desander cone, it do not need so much space to install it.
  5. The trip pump and mud mixing pump installed on the skid to provide power to the mixing hopper and mud gun.
  6. The venturi hopper to mix chemicals with the slurry to prepare for new fluids by working with mixing pump. The new drilling fluids can be reused or the clean fluids can be reused directly without mixing if necessary.
  7. Mud tank with handrails, walkways, stairs, pipelines, lightings, electric control system.

1500HP rig solids control system to India

One set of 1500HP rig solids control system is ready shipment to India for oil drilling company, this is their repeat order since 2008, they keep purchasing the solids control system & equipments and shaker screens, desander cone, desilter cone , etc. spare parts from GN. The technical configuration of this 1500HP rig solids control system is as below:

1) 3 units of linear motion shale shaker, each shaker equipped with 3pcs composite material shaker screens for longer working life and save time to replace shaker screens. One possem belly is installed after the 3 units of shale shaker to collect the drilling fluids from elevated manifold or poor boy degasser and distribute them evenly to 3 shale shaker buffer box. The coarse solids are effectively separated out, so that it can reduce the burden for the next step equipments- mud cleaner and make the working life of desander cone, desilter cone and centrifugal pump longer.

2) 1 units of vacuum degasser to separate the gas from the drilling fluids, to protect the centrifugal pump impeller and keep the mud balance.
3) 2 sets of centrifugal pump as the feeding pump of desander cone and desilter cone, 1 unit of mud cleaner is the combination of 10 inch desander cone, 4 inch desilter cone and bottom shale shaker, the shaker screen dimension is same with the linear motion shale shaker. The desander cut point is 45~75 microns, the desilter cut point is 25~45 microns.

4) 1 units of middle speed decanter centrifuge with submersible slurry pump as feeding pump for barite recovery.
5) 1 unit of high speed decanter centrifuge with submersible slurry pump as feeding pump to separate the cut point 2~5 microns low gravity solids.
6) 2 sets of mud tanks with handrails, walkway, stairs, electric control system, pipelines, valves and all the other accessories.

Two sets of Slurry dewatering system for America Client

Two sets of slurry dewatering system is ready for shipment for America client for construction slurry, this is the repeat order from the same client, they are satisfied with the performance and after sales service, so they purchased 4 more units for their ongoing project, these 2 sets of slurry dewatering unit is part of their new order. The new 2 sets of construction slurry dewatering unit design has been improved according to client’s feedback to be more user friendly.

  1. Coarse solids separation modular: The coarse solids separatioin shale shaker is installed on the slurry collection hopper, the discharged slurry is dropped into the collection hopper, a submersible slurry pump is installed vertically as feeding pump of fine solids separation modular.
  2. Slurry collection hopper modular: This is special designed slurry collection hopper and it is used to collect the construction slurry from the vacuum tanker vehicle. The internal water spray system will help the slurry to the hopper discharge port easily.
  3. Fine solids separation modular: A shale shaker equipped fine mesh shaker screen to separate the fine solids from the slurry, this step is very necessary to reduce the solids content and protect the desilter cone in the next process, also it will protect the centrifugal pump of the desilter cone, it will reduce the abrasion of them and make their working life longer.
  4. Desilting modular: The desilter cone is to separate fine solids over 20 microns before decanter centrifuge, it can reduce the fine solids effectively and improve the separation efficiency of the decanter centrifuge.
  5. Decanter centrifuge: The high speed decanter centrifuge is used to separate the ultra fine solids over 2 microns, the performance of the centrifuge is very important, sometimes the client will use dewatering unit together to separate the 1 microns solids.

Oil sludge treatment unit manufacturer in China

As the professional manufacturer of oil sludge treatment unit in China, recently we shipped one set of oil sludge treatment unit to our client in China. This is our standard oil sludge treatment unit, including the components below:

  1. Pre-mixing tank, including submersible slurry pump, mud agitator, mud tank, liquid level meter, lighting, heating lines, accessories, pipelines.
  2. Vacuum pump to transfer the oil sludge from waste pit to the oil sludge separation unit. It is 100% air operated pump without electricity power supply.
  3. Shale shaker modular including shale shaker with sealing cover and internal spray system in case that the high viscosity oil sludge blinding the screen opening. The shale shaker is to separate the coarse solids from the oil sludge so that it will not damage the decanter centrifuge, and the working life of decanter centrifuge will be longer.
  4. Centrifuge package modular including one unit of 2 phase decanter centrifuge, screw pump as feeding pump of decanter centrifuge, 3 phase centrifuge to separate oil from water, flushing tank with flushing pump, centrifuge tank skid to install the centrifuge on it, buffer tank for oil and water storage, the oil will be automatically pumped to oil storage tank once it reach the setting level. The water will be automatically pumped to water storage tank or back to the circulation system. The liquid level meter is applied to monitor the liquid level.

  5. 1) Bowl material is made of duplex stainless steel 2304, and other components are made of SS316L. The collection box is made of stainless steel for better corrosion.
    2) The screw is made of SS304 by centrifugal casting heating up to 1000 degree.
    3) The bearing is SKF brand for longer working life
    4) The screw propeller is protected by tungsten carbide tiles, which is repairable once it is damaged.

10 units of desanding unit for Piling and TBM

Recently GN solids control shipped 10 units of slurry desanding unit for Piling and TBM. This is our standard GNMS-500D with 500gpm treating capacity, which is consist of the equipments as below:

Double deck shale shaker GNZY753F with 1 ea of 10 inch desander cone. It is 2 phase cleaning equipment with shale shaker and desander cone.

The centrifugal pump as desander feeding pump, which is installed on the mud tank. The pump model is GNSB6x5C-12J with 37KW motor.

The compact design mud tank as an intermediate tank to collect the slurry discharged from bottom shaker screen. The inland shipping dimension is 3103 x 1896 x 2441mm. The operation dimension is 3506 x 1896x 3907 mm, the total weight is 2850kg. The total power is 39KW. The upper screen area is 0.875m2, the bottom screen area is 1.35m2. The vibration strength is 7.1G which is adjustable.

The shaker screen is composite material frame shaker screens for longer working life, with effective screen area is 20% larger than traditional steel frame screen area. The conductance is much bigger than steel frame screens. The wire mesh is made of stainless steel 316L material. The storage life is up to 5 years.
The disadvantages of the economic configuration mud recycling system is without mud mixing unit, if the client need to prepare for new drilling fluids with the recovery clean fluids, we will provide separate jet mud mixer( combination of mixing hopper, mixing pump, pipelines, valves and skid) connect with storage tank.
The desanding unit is economic configuration mud recycling system, we also have customized self contained mud recycling system for better separation performance.

Drilling waste management system manufacturer in China

Recently 2 sets of drilling waste management system are shipped to our client in Xinjiang province. They are used to treat the oil based drilling cuttings, recovery more useful drilling fluids and reduce the drilling cuttings disposal cost.


The major and most important equipments in the drilling waste management system including: decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer.
The decanter centrifuge produced by GN Solids Control features:
1) Centrifuge Duplex Stainless Steel 2304 or 2205 bowl made from centrifugal casting, the other parts are made by stainless steel 316L
2) Centrifuge screw propeller is protected by tungsten carbide tiles, it is made by centrifugal casting by heat treatment up to 1000 degree. The screw is made of stainless steel material.


3) The bearing is SKF brand for better performance.
4) The collection box is all made of stainless steel 304 for better corrosion resistance. The air spring design is for user friendly, one worker can open the collection box easily.
5) The VFD control panel can adjust the frequency of main motor, back drive motor, feeding pump motor. The frequency inverters are all ABB brand. The other electric components are made from famous brand for easier replacement by international clients. The VFD control panel is positive pressurized VFD with PLC Smart control , HMI interface.
The ideal feeding pump for the decanter centrifuge is positive displacement pump, sometimes to save the space on the mud tank, we will use vertical installed submersible slurry pump as feeding pump.
Vertical cutting dryer is the first step to treat the oil based drilling cuttings, the OOC is normally below 5%, sometimes the oil content in the cuttings could be below 3%. In some countries it is accepted to be landfill, in some other countries the data should be below 1%, the client can send the discharged solids to burning process.

GN solids control just back from the oil exhibition OTC 2019 in Houston, TX. We have 2 stands at OTC as usual, the stand photo is as below:

1) Sludge vacuum pump: It is ideal pump to transfer oil sludge, oil contaminated soil, sand, animal waste, sludge waste, drilling waste, powder cements and other types of sludge. The 100% air operated vacuum pump do not need electricity power. The air compressor should be required to drive the vacuum pump.

2) The ViST vacuum screen is installed under the shale shaker last screen or outside the shale shaker to dry the discharged drilling cuttings and recover more drilling fluids. It will improve the separation efficiency and save money for the user.


3) Different models shaker screens: the composite material shaker screens with bigger screen area and longer working life, we can produce OEM shaker screens for GN shale shaker and replacement shaker screens for Derrick, Brandt, SWACO, FSI, etc. brand shale shakers.

5) The VFD decanter centrifuge can be used for dewatering unit, drilling fluids treatment, drilling waste management system, waste water treatment, oil sludge treatment, and industrial water treatment, etc. applications. Automatic Tank Cleaning System ready for shipment

One set of automatic tank cleaning system is ready for shipment in GN solids control yard, The user watch the testing before shipment and they are satisfied with the result.
Why use automatic tank cleaning system? The purpose is to separate the solid from the tank flushing slurry to make the water reusable.

Working principle of GN Automatic Tank Cleaning System:
The tank cleaning system supply fresh water to high pressure tank cleaning machine inside the system, then the pump in the system will bring the dirty water back to the system and return clean water back to the tank cleaning machine to reuse. The whole circulation will minimize the water consumption and power consumption. The circulation process is a continuous process with treating capacity 30m3/h of waste water.

Including sludge vacuum pump, air operation diaphragm pump, high pressure pump.
Including chemical dosing unit with static mixer, the tank washing water adding chemicals to accumulate the ultra fine solids and suspension soil so that it will separate the water more clear and get drier solids.

Including inclined plate clarifier with level meter, the solids settle down rapidly to the bottom of the clarifier. The inclined plate clarifier is installed after the chemical dosing unit, the accumulated solids will be easily settled down, the proper designed process will increase the efficiency of the automatic tank cleaning system.
Considering the marine shipment for international clients, the tank cleaning system is installed on a compact skid which is suitable to be loading into a 40ft container for convenient shipment and economic freight cost. For more information, pls contact with GN solids control.

Mini centrifuge for waste water treatment

The 9 inch bowl decanter centrifuge produced by GN solids control is widely used for waste water treatment for many industries, for example, GNLW223 centrifuge for the compact design 1m3/h oil sludge separation unit to separate the fine solids from oil sludge, GNLW223 centrifuge for the solids removal unit to separate the fine solids GNLW224EP-VFD decanter centrifuge with dewatering unit to separate the ultra fine solids from waste water.

The 9 inch bowl centrifuge is the smallest size decanter centrifuge GN produced, we also have 14 inch bowl decanter centrifuge, 18 inch bowl decanter centrifuge, 22 inch bowl decanter centrifuge, 30 inch bowl decanter centrifuge, which are used to separate the fine solids from drilling fluids, drilling cuttings, refinery tank bottom oil sludge, waste oil sludge, industrial waste water, mining tailings, and other chemical mixtures.
The difference between GNLW223 and GNLW224EP-VFD centrifuge:
1) Both of the bowl size is 9 inch, the bowl material is stainless steel 316, and the collection box material is also SS304. The screw material is SS304 by heat treatment up to 1000℃ for longer working life. The screw propeller is protected by the tungsten carbide tiles which is repairable. Same with the big size decanter centrifuge, the solids discharged port and fluids distribution port are both protected by interchangeable tungsten carbide alloy.
2) The bowl length of the GNLW223 centrifuge is 670mm or 26.4 inch, the bowl length of GNLW224EP-VFD centrifuge is 924mm or 36.4 inch, both of these 2 models with 15HP main motor, but GNLW223 series without back drive motor, the GNLW224EP series centrifuge with back drive motor 7.5HP, and the max speed of GNLW223 is 4500rpm, max speed for GNLW224EP is 5000rpm. The gearbox ratio of 223 centrifuge is 35:1, the gearbox ratio of GNLW224EP-VFD is 95:1.

5m3/h oil sludge separation system ready for shipment

One unit of 5m3/h oil sludge separation system is ready for shipment recently, the model is GNOST-05A. we also have GNOST-01A with 1 m3/h treating capacity, GNOST-15A with 15m3/h treating capacity for option.

1) Sludge vacuum pump: this is a 100% air operation pump, no need electricity power supply. It has option for automatic and manual operation, the transfer rate could be 10m3/h, 20 m3/h and 40 m3/h. The max suction distance is up to 500m, and the max discharge distance is up to 1000m.
2) The shale shaker with internal spray system and cover to prevent the oil sludge from splashing to separate the coarse solids from the oil sludge, the shaker screen opening is 1mm or 2mm, the purpose is to protect the centrifuge screw.

3) The VFD decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids from the oil sludge by working with chemical dosing system. The reason to use chemical jetting is to help the centrifuge to separate the oil from the solids more clean.
4) The 3 phase centrifuge to separate the oil from water, the oil is recovered by the refinery and the water is put into the circulation system. The decanter centrifuge should separate the fine solids as much as possible, otherwise it will block the 3 phase centrifuge.
