    The working principal of centrifugal pump is that the impeller is drived to the periphery by the inertia effect of centrifugal force from the impeller center and gets rotated energy. The working fluids flows around the impeller and get increased static pressure, the fluids pass the impeller and get into the pump casing and the fluid slow down, as a result, the drilling fluids with a high pressure discharged from the outlet and get into the exhaust pipe.
    The centrifugal pump can be installed in a system or separately on the skid for flexible application. Drilling waste cleaning vacuum pump manufacturer in China

As a drilling waste cleaning vacuum pumps manufacturer in China, GN solids control have 3 models of vacuum pump for option, to meet different requirement of different flow rate and working dimension.


GNSP-40B vacuum pump with max capacity 40m3/h for clean water, it will be various based on different material. The inlet and outlet size is 4”, max solids size is 75mm, pressure request is 80~114 PSI (550 kpa ~785kpa) , and air demand is 17 m3/min ( 600CFM), max solids content is 80%, the max suction discharge is 50m, and max discharge distance is 1000m.

GNSP-10B is the smallest model vacuum pump with max water capacity 10m3/h, it can be used for project which required compact footprint to be installed inside space limited oil tank. the inlet and outlet size is 3”, max solids size is 50mm, pressure request is 80~100PSI (550 kpa ~690 kpa) , and air demand is 4.3 m3/min ( 150CFM), max solids content is 80%, the max suction discharge is 50m, and max discharge distance is 500m.
The vacuum pump is 100% air operated which do not need electricity power supply, it can be safely used for hazardous area application, but it need air compressor for operation. The automatical mode is for continuously working if the suction timer and discharge timer is well set in advance. Not only for drilling waste cleaning, the vacuum pump can be also used to transfer animal waste, sand, diatomaceous earth, vessel bottom, barge holdings, oil sludge and other hazardous waste.

Solids control hydrocyclones equipments

Shale shaker is as the first phase cleaning equipments of drilling rig solids control system, hydrocyclones separation as the second phase cleaning and third phase cleaning equipments of solids control system. Hydrocyclones including 10” desander cone is used to separate solids in the range of 40 microns to 74 microns; 4” desilter cone is used to separate solids in the range of 15 microns to 44 microns. The drop in apex is installed in the taper hole of the pressure nut. The pressing nut can be rotated clockwise to compress the drop in apex to reduce the opening of the drop in apex. Rotate the pressure nut counterclockwise to reduce the pressure on the drop in apex, and restored to its original size. The spray mode can be adjusted by the opening size of the drop in apex during operation.


The hydrocyclones working principal is as below:
The drilling fluids is feed to desander/ desilter cone inlet port by centrifugal pump, causing a whirlpool effect to occur inside the cone, the slurry drives the larger, denser particles outward against the cone wall while the smaller, lighter particles move toward the center of the cone. The low-pressure vortex at the center of the cone drawing in air through the apex at the lower discharge end of the cone. The high-velocity air stream aids the upward flow of liquid and small particles toward the cone’s upper discharge, while the spiraling stream of liquid and larger particles flows downward along the cone wall toward the lower discharge.


The recommend desander and desilter operating pressure varies from different mud weight and specific gravity. The desander cone and desilter cone is made of 100% polyurethane for better abrasion resistance. According to actual requirement, the user can select different quantities of desander cone and desilter cone, the hydrocyclone frame is standard which will installed on top of mud cleaner.

Shale shaker used for Micro Tunneling slurry treatment

Besides for oil and gas drilling industry, shale shaker has been widely used for HDD & engineering application, such as HDD, water well drilling, bored pile, micro tunneling, TBM slurry treatment plant.

Micro Tunneling engineering is a type of big hole horizontal drilling, pipe laying while drilling. This is most typical for laying or replacing water pipes under urban buildings and traffic arteries. Firstly dig out the big vertical wellbore, and install the drilling equipment at a certain depth. The location of the open caisson is slightly lower than the equipment level, forming a sedimentation mud pit, which is conducive to the removal of solid phase. The submersible slurry pump feed the slurry to the mud cleaning unit, which consists of a shale shaker, a mud cleaner, a feeding pump and a small mud storage tank.


The HDD and micro tunneling application including river crossing for pipeline laying in the river bottom, road crossing for pipeline laying, fiber optic cable laying. When laying big size pipeline, a reliable solids control system is required, which consist of the high treating capacity shale shaker, desander, desilter, decanter centrifuge, mud tank, etc. when the engineering site is located in residential and commercial areas, the drilled hole size should be as small as possible, the generated drilling fluids and cuttings should be collected by waste box, the required solids removal unit will consist of a small tank, a feed pump and a small shale shaker.

Desander Desilter and Degasser for China Drilling Company

Recently one batch of solids control equipments are ready for shipment to drilling company, including desander GNZJ752J-1S, desilter GNZJ752J-8N and vacuum degasser GNZCQ270B .


The bottom shale shaker of desander and desilter is a 2 panel shaker, installed 2 pcs of composite material frame shaker screen, which is drived by 2 ea of 1.0 KW vibration motor and produce G force up to 7.5G. The updated J version shale shaker with features as below:

    Horizontal vacuum degasser GNZCQ270B is used to remove gas from gas cut mud, to ensure proper drilling mud weight, the vacuum degasser is a self contained type degasser, and it can be also acted as a big agitator of the drilling fluids, to protect the desander and desilter feeding pump. The treating capacity is 270m3/h, with horizontal vessel tank diameter 920mm.

As a manufacturer of high speed decanter centrifuge, we have specific standard for its performance requirement in manufacturing as per industry standard.

  1. The centrifuge shall be free of collision and abnormal sound when it is started to the rated speed
  2. The starting time and maximum starting current when the centrifuge starts to the rated speed shall meet the design requirements.
  3. The bowl speed shall not be less than 97% of the rated speed
  4. Under unloading condition, the vibration speed of low speed centrifuge shall not be higher than 4.5mm/s, and that of high speed centrifuge shall not be higher than 7.1mm/s
  5. Under unloading condition, the temperature of main bearing shall not exceed 70 ℃, and the temperature rise shall not exceed 35 ℃.

The working process of mud recycling system is that the pit pump( submersible slurry pump) collect the used drilling mud from mud pit and transfer to mud cleaning unit, the bottom shaker screen for coarse solids separation, the fluids drop into the mud tank, the desilter feeding pump feed the mud to 4 inch desilter cone for cut point 20 microns fine solids separation, the clean mud flow to another mud storage tank, which with mud mixing hopper and mixing pump, to mix with chemical additive to prepare for new drilling fluids and reused it for drilling. Double Deck Linear Motion Shale Shaker for Europe Client

Recently GN produced double deck linear motion shale shaker are ready for shipment to Europe client.
The features of GNZS706 double deck linear motion shale shaker is as below:

  1. The GNZS706 double deck linear motion shale shaker, top layer with 3pcs screen, total screen area is 2.0m2, the bottom layer with 3pcs screens, total screen area is 2.6m2. Total screen area is 4.6m2.
  2. Working principal is that top layer screen is to separate coarse solids from the drilling fluids, the bottom layer screen is to separate the fine solids , the double deck shale shaker will increase the treating capacity and reduce the shaker screen damage.
  3. The double deck shale shaker is to replace the old VSM300 shale shaker which installed on client’s drilling mud solids control system.

Dewatering centrifuge for fluids treatment

Depends on the density and viscosity of the fluids to be treated, to make the solids liquids separation easily, for the fluids which is difficult to separate, normally we need to enlarge the solids particle size, reduce fluids viscosity and increase solids liquids density difference by methods of mechanical and chemical ways. Besides, we can also apply to increase concentration, preconcentration and wear resistant accordingly to improve the centrifuge treating capability and reduce the abrasion to the centrifuge screw.
The solution to enlarge the suspended particles by mechanical or chemical methods including:

  1. Inorganic electrolyte is added to the suspension fluids as a coagulant to agglomerate small particles into large particles.
  2. Mixing with flocculants or coagulants, the order of adding various flocculants, and the intensity and time of mixing have an impact on the flocculation effect. Therefore, the type and dosage of flocculants need to be determined by the mixing test. The requirement of Flocculation treatment effect is that the settling speed of flocculated fluids is fast, and the clarity of top layer clear liquid is good.
  3. Change the viscosity and density of the fluids by adjusting temperature
    Especially for the oil sludge treatment by decanter centrifuge, heating the oil sludge and mixing with proper chemicals to reduce the viscosity will increase the solids liquid separation efficiency.
    A dewatering centrifuge package including one unit of dewatering centrifuge, centrifuge feeding pump, fluids catching tank with pipelines and tank accessories, chemical dosing unit.

Working principal of Disc centrifuge

GN produced 3 phase disc centrifuge has been widely used for solids oil water separation of oil sludge treatment system. The working principal is as below:
Centrifuge separation methods include centrifugal sedimentation and centrifugal filtration, and centrifuge sedimentation can realize solid-liquid separation or solid- light liquid – heavy liquid separation. The working principles of two phase horizontal decanter centrifuge, three phase horizontal decanter centrifuge and three phase disc centrifuge produced by GN solids control are all centrifugal sedimentation. Therefore, the density difference between solid particles and light liquid and heavy liquids to be processed should be considered.

The important factors of the separation performance of the centrifuge are the gravity of the separator in the centrifuge bowl and the working area of the bowl. The larger of the bowl working area is, the stronger of the separation capacity is.
For the same oil sludge, its centrifugal sedimentation speed is constant. To improve the separation performance of the centrifuge, it is necessary to increase the working area of the centrifuge bowl. You can increase the number of separation discs, increase the rotation speed, optimize the surface and hardness of the discs, and reduce the bowl vibration (improve the bearing performance, enhance the rubber damping, etc.).


To improve the 3 phase disc centrifuge separation performance, we suggest to reduce the feed material solids content less than 3%, and the max solids size should be less than 100 microns. The material of bowl influence if the bowl can rotate with high speed and improve the disc centrifuge performance. The bowl is made of imported high strength, corrosion resistant stainless steel material, integral forged by high pressure, four non destructive testing, CNC machining, in order to ensure that the disc centrifuge operates safely and reliably.
